GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG, 29th. September, 1915.
Sir,
I have the honour to report the deportation to
India of a man named Thakur Singh, connected with the seditionary
movement.
2.
This man was employed by the Chinese Section of the Kowloon-Canton Railway at Canton. While on leave in India at the commencement of the present year he fell under suspicion of the Authorities but he was eventually allowed to return to Canton.
3.
I enclose a copy of a report by the Captain
/ Superintendent of Police regarding his case. The question of pro-
-secuting him in Canton, where the offence was comitted, was very carefully considered, but the Attorney-General and Crown Solicitor concurred that there was a serious risk that proceedings against him would not be successful; and I therefore caused him to be de-
-ported to Calcutta.
A.
The original letters written by Thakur Singh
and by lewa Singh, referred to in the report of the Captain Superintendent of Police, have been sent to the Government of India.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
办
Governor,c..
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
